The practice of yoga is a means by which the individual moves through physical exercises, or postures (called “asanas” in Sanskrit), in order to unite the mind with the body. Much like meditation, as the mind focuses, in this instance on the movements of the body, the noise of the world fades and gives way to stillness, a sense of peace and a greater ability to concentrate.
